April 27, 2016

David Justin Miller has always had a passion for hunting and he looks forward to the chance to improve his skills whenever a new hunting season comes around. Many people in the United States favor deer hunting. However, being able to hunt deer effectively takes a certain amount of skill, which these pointers should help you to develop.

Get Rid of Odors

Deer are finely-tuned animals who are often at one with their surroundings. They also have an excellent sense of smell and will quickly be able to detect hints of cologne or any other unnatural scents, which could lead to them becoming spooked and running. As such, it is a good idea to shower using unscented soap before going on a hunt.

Work With Your Tree Stand

Observing and tracking the deer that you are looking to hunt is almost as important as the act of shooting it, so it is a good idea to practice with your tree stand before the season starts. Make sure that you are capable of putting it up and pulling it down quickly, quietly and efficiently. This will allow you to stay active during the hunt, while also reducing the risk of spooking the deer.

Use Tick Repellant

David Justin Miller recognizes that sometimes the most important thing about hunting is preparation, some of which may not be directly related to the activity. For example, by making sure you use plenty of tick repellant you can avoid getting annoyed while searching for a deer, while also protecting yourself from the various diseases that ticks carry.
